"Food industry and food safety" forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was held under the joint organization of Azerbaijan University of Technology (ATU) and Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute (AQTI).

ATU informed AZERTAC that the forum consisting of 2 sections was organized at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Ganja with the support of Gabala Cannery, "Azgranata" Juice and Wine Processing Plant and "Gama/Orzax" company.

Acting rector of the Azerbaijan University of Technology, associate professor Yashar Omarov, speaking at the event, said that National Leader Heydar Aliyev always focused on the country's food security during all periods of his leadership and included it among the main elements of the statehood strategy. As a continuation of this, as a result of the efforts of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, important work has been done in the direction of ensuring food safety, and the adopted state programs in this field are being successfully implemented. In his speech, Y. Omarov drew attention to the current situation and current issues of the food industry and food safety in the world, and expressed confidence that the discussions to be held in the sections will be productive and will contribute to the mentioned areas.

At the opening event, Academician Fuad Aliyev, the head of the Ganja branch of ANAS, Bayram Aslanov, the chairman of the Ganja city organization of YAP, Anar Jafarov, director of the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, director of the Scientific Research Institute of Plant Protection and Technical Plants, Ibrahim Jafarov, corresponding member of ANAS, Elmeddin Namazov, representative of the FAO Azerbaijan Office, also spoke and wished success to the work of the forum.  The forum consists of two panels.

The most urgent issues and problems related to the food industry and food safety were discussed at the forum attended by foreign specialists, research institutes, and representatives of industrial enterprises.
