Agrarian Business Festival and II Raspberry Festival were held in Goygol

The Agrarian Business Festival and the II Raspberry Festival were held in the Keshku village of the Goygol region. These events, held to support the development of the region's agrarian potential and agrotourism, were organized by the Goygol region executive authority and the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the State Tourism Agency, "AzerGold" Closed Joint-Stock Company, Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Culture Department, Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Employment Branch, Ganja-Gazakh Regional Coordination of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, DNK Hospital, "Goygol Winery" OJSC, "Shirin Agro" CJSC, "Prior Leasing" and other state and private institutions.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, the Head of the Goygol District Executive Power, Elvin Pashayev, said that the II Raspberry Festival allows local producers to introduce their products to a wider audience and demonstrate the opportunities of the Goygol district in terms of the development of agrotourism. He noted that the purpose of organizing the festival is to increase the competitiveness of the region's tourism sector, support the development of agrotourism, promote the unique features of the Goygol region, the agricultural products produced here, and contribute to the development of the economy by promoting raspberry production. Elvin Pashayev, who said that there was great interest in the festival, which was held for the second time, reminded that the Goygol region is one of the regions in our country where the most berries, including raspberries, are grown, and wished the participants and guests success.

Anar Jafarov, Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, said that the product festivals organized in the regions have become a great platform for farmers and entrepreneurs working in the agricultural sector to demonstrate their products, find new sales channels, and exchange experiences. He recalled that the festivals are also of great importance in terms of education, and that panel discussions on "Mechanisms of state support for the agricultural sector" are held within the framework of the festivals, and a credit fair is organized.

Other speakers at the opening ceremony of the event noted the importance of the II Raspberry Festival and the Agricultural Business Festival held in the Goygol region in terms of better evaluating the agricultural and tourism potential of the region.

After the opening ceremony, the organizers of the event visited the stands of berry producers participating in the festival, as well as private and public institutions participating in the Agricultural Business Festival.

The Agro Business Festival, held in parallel with the II Raspberry Festival, was held in Goygol district. This festival is considered an important platform for enterprises operating in the agricultural sector, state institutions and entrepreneurs to come together. The next Agro Business Festival held in Goygol district was organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, and subordinate agencies of the Ministry actively participated in the event.

Private and public organizations participating in the festival provided farmers and festival participants with detailed information about services and support tools in the agricultural sector.

Festival participants were also presented with products and services from companies operating in the fields of seed production, fertilizer and pesticide production, agrotechnics, and irrigation systems.

The country's leading banks and financial institutions participated in the credit fair organized within the framework of the Agrarian Business Festival and provided detailed information to agricultural entrepreneurs about preferential loans, state support mechanisms and investment opportunities. Farmers received practical information on how to benefit from new financing tools by communicating directly with bank representatives.

A panel discussion was held on the topic of "State support mechanisms in the agricultural sector" within the framework of the Agrarian Business Festival. The discussions included an exchange of views on accessibility to state support instruments in agriculture, credit and insurance opportunities, increasing employment, food safety standards, and increasing entrepreneurs' access to the market.

It should be noted that during the festivals organized in the village of Keshku, visitors were given the opportunity to get to know raspberry production better, and tasting and sale of raspberry varieties presented by local producers were organized. Various entertaining show programs and master classes were demonstrated for the guests as part of the event. Visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the handicrafts prepared by the craftsmen, watch the open-air concert program, and watch the exemplary performances of athletes.

It should be noted that Goygol district is one of the regions in Azerbaijan where berries are grown the most. In recent years, industrial cultivation of raspberries has been carried out in the region. Farmers prefer to cultivate the more productive varieties of raspberries, “Polka” and “Polyana”. Last year, berries, mainly raspberries and blackberries, were grown on 120.5 hectares of land in Goygol. 164.6 tons of crops were harvested from the fields, with an average yield of 14.2 centners/ha.

Thousands of guests visited the two-day festivals.
