Agrarian Innovation Festival was held in Tovuz region under the organization of Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture. Farmers from Tovuz, Gazakh, Aghstafa, Shamkir, Samukh, Gadabay, Goygol regions participated in the festival. Technologies and products covering various fields of agriculture were exhibited at the festival. The best advanced agricultural practices for farmers, agrarian insurance, crop and animal husbandry, precision farming, "smart" agricultural systems, priority aimed at the development of agriculture by the experts of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and other state institutions, representatives of companies operating in the agrarian field directions were given.
Speaking at the official opening of the festival, the head of the Tovuz District Executive Authority, Mammad Mammadov, informed about the work done in the direction of the development of agriculture in the district.
Aydin Huseynov, a member of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated during his speech that purposeful reforms have been implemented in the country and noted that these reforms eventually responded to the current challenges with their dynamic development in the agrarian field as well as in other fields.
Anar Jafarov, director of the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, said during his speech that the main purpose of holding the festivals is for farmers to familiarize themselves with the products of various fields of agriculture on one platform. This is where festivals pay off, creating a direct link between producers and farmers.
In accordance with the tradition of the festival, along with the exhibition and demonstration of agricultural products, training was held to educate farmers on the priority topics of the field. In accordance with the main activity of the center, within the framework of the festival, support measures for the development of start-ups in the agricultural field and increasing interest in this field are carried out. At today's festival, a device that cleans bees from "varroa" mites (Antivarroa) was donated to farmer Gabil Hajiyev, one of the leading beekeepers of Tovuz region, by a local company whose product was successfully tested in farms and started mass production. Antivarroa device - cleans bee colonies from mites in field conditions and in places far from residential areas without electricity. The device has been tested in beekeeping farms and successful results have been achieved.
One of the main contributions of holding festivals is the establishment of cooperation with private companies, cooperatives, and associations in the field of agriculture, exchange of experience. Within the framework of the festival, based on the cooperation between the local organic fertilizer producer company and the "Western Innovations" Women's Cooperative operating in Tovuz district, which includes large groups of women, mineral fertilizers will be applied free of charge to the farm owned by the cooperative, which will improve the structure of the soil and increase productivity.
