The next Agrarian Innovation Festival was organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center in Sheki. This year, for the first time, seed exhibition-sale fairs are held within the framework of Agrarian Innovation Festivals. In order to develop the seed market and local seed production, as well as to ensure availability of certified, climate-friendly, quality seeds to farmers on the eve of autumn planting, seed-exhibition sales fairs will be organized in Shamakhi, Agstafa, Gusar, Aghjabedi, Hajigabul, Sabirabad, Bilasuvar regions.

The fairs are jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agrarian Services Agency, the State Seed Fund and the Azerbaijan Seed Growers Association.

Information will be provided to farmers in more than 30 regions of Azerbaijan throughout the season through a mobile caravan prepared for seed exhibition and sale fairs.

At the festival in Sheki, in addition to the exhibition and sale of seeds, in accordance with the tradition of festivals, demonstrations of various agricultural technologies and products, as well as trainings on farmers’ education were held.

Institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and other state enterprises, local seed producers, companies engaged in the production and sale of large seeds, as well as local companies specializing in other fields of agriculture participated in the festival.

At the exhibition, cereal (barley, wheat), vegetable plant varieties and seeds, various agricultural unmanned aerial vehicles, equipment and units, innovative irrigation technologies, alternative energy sources, new technologies applied in cotton cultivation, planting materials obtained on the basis of modern technologies, samples of fertilizers and pesticides were shown.

During the festival, farmers were trained on “Rules of agrotechnical care of grain plants, choosing the right seeds”, information was provided on the topics of obtaining and cleaning certified seeds.

It should be noted that the Agrarian Innovation Festival, where the next seed exhibition and sale fair will be held, will be organized on August 18 in Shamakhi district.
