On July 11, the next Agrarian Innovation Festival was held in Barda district under the organization of the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Science and Education.  All subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture, a number of vocational educational institutions under the State Agency for Vocational Education, more than 80 local and foreign companies, as well as various projects and startups participated in the festival held at Barda Vocational High School.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev noted that the reforms carried out in the field of vocational education in recent years have begun to show their results and the number of accepted students has increased by more than 50% in the last 3 years and reached 19,000. Emin Amrullayev said that the development of vocational education in connection with all areas of the economy is very important. The Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, noted that the festival will have a positive effect on the strengthening of cooperation between agricultural producers and vocational educational institutions.

During the event, trainings were organized for farmers on priority directions for the development of the agricultural sector. In the course of the festival, information sessions were held by private companies operating in the field of irrigation and plant protection measures in order to increase interest in agriculture and attract young people to this field for students of vocational educational institutions.

The representatives of the public were informed that Barda Vocational High School has great opportunities among vocational educational institutions in terms of agriculture. About 1,200 students are studying in high-demand fields such as agriculture, ICT, and industry in the institution, which started operating in 2021 on the basis of modern standards.

It should be noted that the festival was organized in order to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan and to strengthen the existing relations between agriculture and the vocational education sector.
