Agrarian Business Festival and credit fair were held in Yevlakh district

Agrarian Business Festivals organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture continue. The next festival took place in Yevlakh district.

Farmers from Yevlakh, Barda, Tartar, Goranboy, Sheki, Aghdash regions participated in the Agrarian Business Festival held under the Ministry of Economy in partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Consumer Goods Expertise Center.

Products covering various fields of agriculture were displayed at the festival. During the festival, farmers got acquainted with the certified seeds, fertilizers, pesticide samples, irrigation technologies and agricultural machinery offered by various companies, and received information about the rules of use and technical indicators.

Plants with high economic income potential were also exhibited at the festival. Farmers were given information about the cultivation of these crops using efficient breeding methods and technologies, high income value.

In addition, various products were put on sale by companies engaged in the supply and supply of agricultural products at the festival.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, the first deputy head of the Yevlakh City Executive Authority, Khalig Aliyev, said that such events held in the regions had a positive effect on the education of farmers, on increasing access to agricultural products, and on the application of new technologies in the fields.

Anar Jafarov, director of Agrarian Innovation Center, noted that Agrarian Business Festivals are platform designed to deliver modern technology, novelties and innovations applied in agriculture to farmers.  Such events allow to bring together the supply companies and farmers, who are interested parties of agricultural activities, and establish bilateral relations.

Seymur Movlayev, chairman of the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Namig Zeynalov, adviser to the chairman of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, Elshad Hasanov, director adviser of the Consumer Goods Expertise Center, Farid Valizade, chief adviser to the president of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, spoke at the Agrarian Forum organized in the regions. They appreciated the organization of credit fairs within the framework of Business Festivals. It was noted that such fairs can provide awareness of farmers about state preferential agricultural loans, and at the same time improve their access to financial sources to expand agricultural activities.

Later, credit fair was held in Aran Regional Development Center of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency in partnership with the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture.

At the fair, farmers were informed about the terms of granting agricultural loans, various loan products, added value created by agricultural loans in agriculture and other issues. It was noted that the main purpose of the credit fair held in the regions is to support the development of entrepreneurship in the regions, as well as to increase the financial literacy of farmers, and to inform about the provision of preferential loans.

About 20 banks and non-bank credit organizations participated in the credit fair, and specialists of about 10 banks and non-bank credit organizations gave their potential customers advice and recommendations on credit cooperation. At the same time, farmers were informed about the maximum amount of loans they can take according to their existing farms and plans.

A panel discussion on "Promotion of agricultural loans" was held as part of the credit fair. During the discussions, experts from various institutions provided information on the support provided to farmers and entrepreneurs within the framework of public and private sector cooperation. Farmers' questions were answered in the panel discussions, and technical support was given to them to apply for an agricultural loan.
