At the festival, nature-protecting and climate-friendly technologies according to the priorities of COP29 were demonstrated, and training was organized for farmers.
Agrarian Business Festival was held in Khizi district under the organization of Agrarian Innovation Center. Farmers from Khizi, Shabran, Siyazan, Khachmaz, Guba and Gusar regions participated in the festival as visitors. Representatives of various state institutions, local and foreign companies, bank and non-bank credit organizations took part in the festival organized in the territory of the Heydar Aliyev Center.
Speakers at the event touched on the importance of such events organized in the regions in order to educate farmers, and emphasized that there are wide opportunities for cooperation in these festivals, which provide access to agricultural innovations and financial sources for agricultural producers. At the festival, government institutions and private companies operating in the agricultural sector shared the best advanced agricultural practices for farmers.
In order to promote the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be hosted by our country this year, nature-protecting and climate-friendly technologies were exhibited at the festival. Also, within the framework of the festival, videos on the topics of efficient use of water and land resources and biodiversity were shown in accordance with the priorities of the COP29 initiative.
In the exhibition section of the festival, innovative technologies, modern agricultural machinery, new irrigation methods, efficient farming methods, plant protection tools, and various plant and vegetable seeds were showcased. Training sessions were also held for farmers on the application of modern technologies related to the efficient and sustainable use of water and land resources, which are among the main priorities of the COP29 conference.
In addition, within the framework of the festival, a tour was organized for the winners of the "GreenAgrohack" hackathon, organized by the Agricultural Innovation Center, to the innovative farm "Shabran Agricultural Innovations and Agro Tourism Center" located in the Shabran district. During the info tour, a visit to the horticultural farm of the complex was organized.
It should be noted that in the first six months of the current year, the Agrarian Business Festival was held in 10 different regions of our republic in 10 economic regions. So far, about 6,500 farmers have visited the festivals, and 17 training and presentation meetings have been held at the festivals to educate farmers. It should be noted that the next festival will be held on July 9 in Gadabay district.
