The agricultural innovation center of the Ministry of Agriculture and the regional executive authorities jointly organize product festivals dedicated to the promotion of agriculture and local products in the regions. The next events within the framework of this initiative - the Agricultural Business Festival and the Peach Festival - took place in the Khachmaz region.
The festival was jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Khachmaz District Executive Power, and "Food City Agrocomplex".
The main goal of holding the festivals is to introduce the region's agricultural potential to the wider public, support local farmers and entrepreneurs operating in the agricultural sector, and at the same time contribute to the development of the region's agritourism opportunities.
During the festival, farmers and farm owners from the Khachmaz region exhibited their products, especially local peach varieties. Along with agricultural products, the exhibition also presented technological innovations, innovative agrarian services, and various local brands.
Festival participants included local producers, agricultural companies, representatives of organizations under the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as employees of other government agencies.
Speaking at the opening of the event, the head of the Khachmaz District Executive Power, Elnur Rzayev, spoke about the measures taken under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev to develop the agricultural sector in the Khachmaz district. He highly appreciated the importance of the festival, which coincided with the 95th anniversary of the Khachmaz district.
Anar Jafarov, Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, said in his speech that such festivals make a significant contribution to the promotion of modern approaches in the agricultural sector, exchange of experience and socio-economic development of regions. Festivals organized in the regions are also important in terms of gaining practical knowledge for farmers, familiarization with modern agricultural technologies and establishing closer ties with organizations operating in the agricultural sector. It was noted that these platforms not only increase young people's interest in agriculture, but also serve to integrate agricultural innovations and technologies into the regions.
Anar Aghayev, CEO of Food City Agrocomplex, noted in his speech that the development of local production is accelerating thanks to the state's continuous support for the agricultural sector. Projects implemented jointly with state agencies serve to introduce high technologies and expand export markets. This experience increases interest in local production and strengthens the market position of farmers and entrepreneurs.
Elgun Mahammadelizade, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Procurement and Supply OJSC, and Jala Amirbayova, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association, emphasized in their speeches that such events are of great importance in terms of supporting local producers and that they play the role of a new platform in terms of sharing practical experiences. A panel discussion on "State support mechanisms in the agricultural sector" was held as part of the festival. Representatives of the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency, the Agrarian Insurance Fund, the Business Development Fund, the Food Safety Agency, the State Employment Agency, as well as banks and non-bank credit organizations participated in the discussion. During the panel, participants were provided with detailed information about subsidies, preferential loans, agricultural insurance mechanisms, certification issues, and employment programs, and farmers' questions were answered.
The festival continued throughout the day with an interesting and colorful program. Cultural and entertainment programs, folklore performances, culinary presentations, and tasting corners organized for local residents, tourists, and families added a special touch to the event.
