Seed exhibition and sales fairs are successfully continuing in the regions, jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and regional executive authorities. The next Agrarian Business Festival and seed exhibition and sales fair were organized in the city of Sheki.
The fair was jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agrarian Services Agency and the Sheki City Executive Authority. The main goal of the event is to demonstrate the development prospects of the seed sector in the region, expand the sales opportunities of local farmers, promote entrepreneurship and support the establishment of new partnerships.
In his speech at the official opening ceremony of the event, Elkhan Usubov emphasized the dynamic development of the agrarian sector as a result of the reforms and state support measures carried out in the agricultural sector in the country. He spoke about the measures taken to provide farmers with high-quality and certified seeds, apply innovative technologies and increase productivity.
In his speech, the Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, Anar Jafarov, emphasized that festivals and exhibition-sales fairs have given impetus to the development of the seed industry in the regions, that farmers have easier access to quality seed materials, and that a mutually beneficial cooperation environment has been formed between agrarian entrepreneurs.
Seed producers from the city of Sheki, companies engaged in the production and sale of seeds, as well as local farmers, demonstrated their products within the framework of the exhibition. During the festival, participants were presented with information on modern technologies, samples of fertilizers and seeds, preferential credit opportunities, and training was held.
At a single stand organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, the festival participants were presented with recommended seed varieties suitable for the agro-climatic and soil conditions of the region, including the soft wheat varieties “Yubiley 90”, “Metin”, “Asgaran”, “Arsenal”, “Lider” and “Layagatli 80” and barley varieties “Dayanatli”, “Jalilabad 19”, “Sadiq”, “Idra” and other.
Within the framework of the festival, a training on the topic “Using certified seeds in autumn grain sowing” was held by Vugar Hajiahmedzade, a specialist of the Agrarian Services Agency. The purpose of the training is to increase the knowledge and skills of farmers in the field of autumn grain, and to support them in applying innovative approaches.
During the training, participants were provided with detailed information on the selection and application of certified seeds, the application of correct technologies to increase productivity, as well as sowing methods appropriate to the agro-climatic conditions of the region. During the training, farmers and seed producers received practical recommendations by holding direct discussions with specialists.
