Agrarian Business Festival was held in Samukh district

Agrarian Business Festival was held in Samukh district under the organization of Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture.

In the exhibition section of the festival, for the promotion of the COP29 event, nature protection technologies, modern techniques for agriculture and efficient planting methods that save resources, plant protection tools, various plant and vegetable seeds were displayed. At the event, state institutions and companies specialized in the field of agriculture provided farmers with extensive information about services and products.

Also, a start-up zone was organized at the festival with the participation of the winners of the "GreenAgroHack" hackathon competition. In the startup zone, the winning participants presented their smart solutions. Within the framework of the festival, a tour to the Shamkir Agropark was organized for the participants of the hackathon with the organization of the Agrarian Innovation Center. During the information tour, the complex's intensive horticultural farms, fruit and vegetable factories and production factory were inspected.

In addition to the Agrarian Business Festival, the "Apricot Festival" was also held in Samukh with the joint organization of the Samukh Agrarian Innovation Center, Samukh District Executive Power and Ganja Regional Tourism Office. Apricot products grown by farmers (fruit, dried fruit, fruit juice, compote) were exhibited at the festival. In addition, national cuisine, handicrafts and paintings made by schoolchildren related to apricots were displayed at the festival. The guests visited the stands and got acquainted with the products and services provided by the companies and manufacturers.

The main purpose of the Apricot Festival held for the first time is to revive the potential of agrotourism, to make a positive contribution to the branding of the apricot product for the Samukh region, and to the socio-economic and cultural development of the region.

It should be noted that after Ordubad district, Samukh district is the most apricot-growing region in our country. At present, 16 varieties of apricots are cultivated in the area of ​​more than 500 hectares in farmers' and private farms of the region. Compared to other regions of Azerbaijan, apricots ripen faster in Samukh region.

It should be noted that the next Agrarian Business Festival will be held in front of the Heydar Aliyev Center in Khizi district on June 28 of this year.
