The next festival aimed at promoting innovations in agriculture, increasing farmers' access to modern agricultural technologies and forming a quality seed market took place in Gusar district. The Agrarian Business Festival and seed exhibition-sales fair, jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Agrarian Services Agency and the Gusar District Executive Power, brought together regional farmers, entrepreneurs and participants in the agricultural sector.
Within the framework of the festival, farmers representing the Guba-Khachmaz economic region, as well as companies engaged in seed production and sale, presented their products. New seed varieties of various agricultural crops, distinguished by their high productivity and adaptability to climate, were demonstrated at the fair.
At a special stand set up by the Ministry of Agriculture at the seed fair, certified seed samples suitable for the climatic conditions of various regions were demonstrated. Experts recommended farmers to use the soft wheat varieties “Khazri”, “Yubiley90”, “Layagatli 80”, “Metin”, “Alekseich”, “Tigre”, “Cesare”, “Maurizio”, “Gadio” and barley varieties “Dayanatli”, “Sadiq”, “Manava”, “Finola”.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, the First Deputy Head of the Gusar District Executive Power, Shahid Faramazov, spoke about the agricultural potential of the region and noted that such festivals play an important role in promoting local producers and expanding their access to the market.
Anar Jafarov, Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, noted that Agrarian Business Festivals stimulate the development of the agricultural sector in the regions, create conditions for mutual cooperation between farmers and market participants, and contribute to the formation of the local seed market.
In her speech, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Fruit, Vegetable Producers and Exporters of Azerbaijan, Jala Amirbayova, particularly emphasized the opportunities created by state support in the development of entrepreneurship. She noted that these events play an important platform role in expanding cooperation between women entrepreneurs, increasing production volumes and accessing new markets.
Products that embody the agricultural traditions of the region were demonstrated within the framework of the festival. Fresh and organic fruit and vegetable products, milk and dairy products grown by farmers were presented to visitors. The event created sales opportunities for local producers and reflected the richness of rural life in the region.
A credit fair was organized during the festival with the participation of about 10 banks and non-bank credit organizations. At the fair, experts from banks and non-bank credit organizations provided advice and recommendations to potential clients on credit cooperation. At the same time, farmers were informed about the maximum amount of loans they can take in accordance with their current farms and plans.
As part of the festival, a panel discussion on the topic "Government support mechanisms in the agricultural sector" was also organized in the administrative building of the Gusar District Executive Power. Here, farmers were provided with detailed information about subsidy and concession mechanisms, state programs, agricultural insurance, training and technical support opportunities. Experts made practical recommendations and shared ways to use existing opportunities more effectively.
