Agrarian Business Festivals organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture in the regions continue. The next festival was organized in Guba district.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov emphasized that the agricultural sector is one of the main strategic sectors of the country's economy. He said that in the conditions of the globalization of the world economy, the stability of the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan and its integration into the world agricultural market, ensuring food security, and raising the standard of living of the population can be realized, first of all, by applying efficient innovations. In our country, there have already been numerous experiences related to the application of innovations in the field of agriculture.
The minister noted that the Agrarian Business Festivals, which are regularly organized in the regions at the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, carry out information about agrarian innovations and current innovations in this field. These festivals allow to bring together farmers and supplier companies, who are interested parties of agricultural activities, and establish bilateral relations. During the festivals, by bringing together the parties who have a role in the development of agribusiness, conditions are created for everyone to benefit from financial support and state benefits for farmers-entrepreneurs: "Festivals do not only aim to display technological tools designed for the needs of farmers, but also provide access to various agricultural production tools. In addition to this, with the participation of financial institutions, additional knowledge is obtained about state support mechanisms and priority areas of the field.
The head of the Guba District Executive Authority, Ilgar Mahmudov, said that in September 2023, the city of Guba was declared the capital of the agriculture ministers of the Organization of Turkic States. Pointing out that Guba is one of the largest agricultural regions of Azerbaijan, the head of the executive stressed the importance of such measures to educate farmers and will contribute to the agricultural sector.
Anar Jafarov, director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, noted that the opportunities for cooperation in the Agrarian Business Festivals held in the regions are wide, and they create a direct connection between producers and farmers.
Later, Minister Majnun Mammadov and Head of Guba District Executive Power Ilgar Mahmudov visited the stands displayed at the festival.
Subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Economy, companies engaged in production and sales in various directions of the agrarian field were represented at the festival.
Farmers of Guba-Khachmaz economic district and surrounding regions participated in the festival organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and in partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Consumer Goods Expertise Center and the Confederation of Entrepreneurs.
At the festival held in the Guba "ASAN service" center, hundreds of farmers got acquainted with the current innovations in agriculture.
Various fertilizers and pesticides, equipment and aggregates, new technologies were demonstrated by the companies participating in the festival in order to improve the supply of agricultural producers with necessary and modern agricultural equipment, to provide agricultural producers with mineral fertilizers required in agriculture to increase productivity.
At the festival, the companies specializing in the agrarian field shared their successful experiences, as well as information about the innovative technologies they applied in their farms, regarding the determination of the agricultural potential and perspective of the region and the development of agricultural fields suitable for the region.
Within the framework of the festival, female members of the Association for the Development of Women's Entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan and the Association of Rural Women of Azerbaijan demonstrated and sold their products.
At the same time, an insurance payment was presented for the damage caused by the flood incident in the cabbage field owned by Etibar Safarov, a farmer from Gusar region.
In addition to the display and sale of agricultural products, training on best advanced agricultural practices was held at the festival.
Also, the next credit fair of the current year was organized within the framework of the Agrarian Business Festival. At the fair, bank and non-bank credit organizations and other financial institutions participating in the festival were informed about granting concessional loans to farmers. Farmers' questions about loans were answered by experts.
It should be noted that the main purpose of these festivals, regularly organized in the regions by the Center for Agrarian Innovation, is to develop the agrarian field on an innovative basis, to provide support services for the promotion of technological innovations, and to ensure the accessibility of agricultural product producers to innovations.
It should be recalled that festivals were held in 14 districts last year for the purpose of developing the agricultural sector on innovative basis, promoting and promoting agricultural innovations, and about 12,000 farmers participated in these festivals. This year, it is planned to hold Agricultural Business Festivals in 30 districts, and Seed Exhibition Sales fairs in 10 districts.
