An Agrarian Business Festival was held in Gazakh region under the auspices of the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and in partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Fund, the Consumer Goods Expertise Center and the Confederation of Entrepreneurs. Subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Economy, banks and non-bank credit organizations participated in the festival organized in the territory of the Kazakh Olympic Sports Complex. The ambassadors of Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in Azerbaijan, the representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in our country also visited the festival and got acquainted with the products and services provided by the companies.
Speakers speaking at the event touched on the importance of such events in the direction of educating farmers, and emphasized that there are wide opportunities for cooperation in these festivals, which provide access to agricultural innovations and financial sources for agricultural producers.
At the festival held in Kazakh, state institutions and private companies operating in the agrarian field shared the best advanced agricultural practices for farmers. In the exhibition section of the festival, modern techniques for agriculture, new irrigation technologies and effective planting methods that save resources, plant protection tools, various plant and vegetable seeds were displayed. Farmers from Gazakh, Agstafa, Tovuz, Shamkir, Samukh, Goygol and Gadabey regions participated in the festival.
At the credit fair held as part of the festival, preferential loans were offered to farmers by the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency, Entrepreneurship Development Fund, bank and non-bank credit organizations. Farmers were given detailed information about agricultural loans and various loan products.
In order to educate farmers, trainings were carried out by the Agricultural Training Center of the Public Legal Entity and Agrarian Services Agency of the Vegetable Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture. During the training, presentations were made by specialists on the topics of "Cultivation of potatoes with modern methods", "Preparation of fields for sowing of autumn grain". Discussions were held on the subject, farmers' questions were answered.
In order to promote the calls for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be hosted by our country in 2024, nature-protecting and climate-friendly technologies were demonstrated at the festival.
It should be noted that the "GreenAgroHack" hackathon competition will be organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center within the framework of the 17th Azerbaijan International Agricultural Exhibition, which will be held at the Baku Expo Center on May 15-17. The competition aims to promote the role and importance of innovation in the field of agriculture, intelligent solutions, development of special software in the field of agriculture with the participation of students of leading higher educational institutions of the country within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World".
