The next "Agricultural Business" and "Bostan" festivals were organized in Kurdamir district with the joint organization of the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Kurdamir District Executive Power. At the Bostan Festival, farmers and family farms operating in the region demonstrated their melon products - watermelons, melons, pumpkins and other melon and vegetable products, and sold them directly from the producer to the buyer. Within the framework of the Agrarian Business Festival, companies specializing in the agricultural sector of the country demonstrated their products, and government agencies demonstrated their services. Visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with modern agrotechnical means, plant protection products, seed samples and innovative technologies.
The official opening of the festival was attended by the head of the Kurdamir District Executive Power, the director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, deputies of the Milli Majlis and other official guests. Opening the event with an introductory speech, the head of the Kurdamir District Executive Power, Elkhan Ibrahimov, spoke about the potential of the region in the agricultural sector and emphasized the importance of these festivals in terms of promoting local producers and expanding product sales opportunities. Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center Anar Jafarov noted that organizing harvest festivals in the regions serves to exchange knowledge, experience and resources between parties operating in the agricultural sector. Deputies of the Milli Majlis Jala Aliyeva, Amina Agazade, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Vegetable Growing Scientific Research Institute" public legal entity Elmar Allahverdiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Republican Union of Trade Unions of Agrarian, Ecology and Water Resources Workers Fuad Mammadov shared their views on the role and potential of the Kurdamir region in agriculture in their speeches. The speakers stated that the real results of the state's care for the agricultural sector in the country are clearly visible in these festivals, and that such events are of great importance in terms of promoting agricultural products in the regions and their inclusion in the value chain.
The Scientific Research Institutes of the Ministry of Agriculture, including the Scientific Research Institute of Vegetable Growing, actively participated in the festival. The institute's employees provided detailed information to the participants about vegetable varieties adapted to local climate and soil conditions, new selection achievements, high-yielding seed samples, and modern cultivation technologies.
A credit fair was organized as part of the festival with the participation of banks, non-bank credit organizations, and state financial institutions. Farmers and entrepreneurs got acquainted with preferential loans, leasing opportunities, and other products offered by various financial institutions at the stands here. During the festival, in addition to the credit fair, a panel discussion on the topic of "State support mechanisms in the agricultural sector" was held. The session was attended by representatives of the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Employment Agency, the Agrarian Insurance Fund, as well as banks and credit organizations. Representatives of state agencies participating in the panel provided detailed information to the event participants about the existing financial support instruments, subsidy mechanisms, preferential loans, agrarian insurance and other opportunities for agricultural entities. The session included an exchange of views with the participants in an open dialogue format, and practical questions of interest to them were answered.
Also, within the framework of the festival, an educational training on the topic of "Agrochemical analyses of soils" was held by Aggul Ahmadova, a specialist of the Agricultural Services Agency. During the training, farmers were provided with useful information about the importance of soil analyses, the correct establishment of fertilization regimes, and the scientific planning of agrotechnical measures. In addition to the exhibition, the festival also included a tasting zone, musical programs, and entertainment corners for children. The event demonstrated the agrarian potential of the region and created an environment for effective cooperation for parties operating in the agricultural sector.
It should be noted that, with the joint organization of the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and regional executive authorities, it is planned to hold harvest festivals in 13 districts across 9 economic regions of the country this year.
