In order to develop the seed market and local seed production, and to ensure availability of certified, climate-friendly, quality seeds to farmers ahead of autumn planting, the next seed exhibition and sale fair and Agrarian Business Festival were held in Beylagan district under the joint organization of the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Beylagan District Executive Authority.
Farmers from Imishli, Saatli, Sabirabad, Beylagan districts participated in the festival.
Local seed producers, large companies engaged in seed production and sale, as well as private companies specializing in other fields of agriculture participated in the seed exhibition and sale fair.
The Ministry of Agriculture as well as other state institutions participated in the festival held in front of Beylagan District Executive Authority and informed the farmers about their services.
At the festival, products were exhibited in accordance with the priorities of the initiative of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
Within the framework of the festival, a round table discussion on "Future development prospects of the agricultural sector of Mil-Mugan economic region" was held in Beylagan district. Discussions were held at the round table on "Innovative technologies in cotton growing: current situation and future tasks" in the field of cotton growing, which is one of the priority areas of the economic region.
During the round table, agronomists and specialists of the companies and enterprises specialized in this field, "P-Agro", "Azerpambig" LLC, "MKT Production and Commerce", as well as the Plant Protection and Technical Plant Science of the Ministry of Agriculture, specialists of Research Institute, Agrarian Credit and Development Agency, Agrarian Insurance Fund spoke and exchanged opinions and discussed issues related to the development of cotton, the current situation and development prospects.
During the discussion, opinions were voiced about giving subsidies, increasing productivity by using intensive technologies in cotton cultivation, efficient use of land and water resources for high productivity, and applying the rotation system.
In the discussions, the importance of proper and timely implementation of agrotechnical measures, agrochemical analysis, and the timely implementation of pest control measures was emphasized.
Within the framework of the event, a Credit Fair for farmers was also organized. Farmers were offered various profitable loan products and informational materials were presented at the credit fair.
It should be noted that seed exhibition and sales fairs were held in Sheki, Oguz, Zardab, Agsu, Goranboy, Tartar, Masalli, Neftchala, Gakh, Balakan, Nakhchivan, Sharur, Shabran, Siyazan and Beylagan regions this year under the organization of the Agrarian Innovation Center.
The last seed exhibition-sale fair of the season will be held in Jalilabad district.
