The season's first seed exhibition-sale fair and agribusiness festival was organized by the Center for Agricultural Innovation of the Ministry of Agriculture were held in Sheki and Oguz districts. High-reproduction certified seed varieties for sowing autumn grain crops were demonstrated within the framework of the exhibition.

The festival was attended by institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture, other state-owned enterprises, local seed producers, companies engaged in the production and sale of large-grained seeds, as well as local companies specializing in other areas of agriculture.

Farmers of the Sheki-Zagatala economic region took part in the festival, organized on the territory of the Sheki city center "ASAN service" and the Olympic sports complex of the Oguz district.

The exhibition demonstrated grain crops (barley, wheat), varieties and seeds of vegetable crops, various agricultural machinery and units, innovative irrigation technologies, alternative energy sources, new technologies used in growing cotton, planting materials obtained on the basis of modern technologies, and plant protection products. Farmers were also provided with detailed information on obtaining certified seeds, the correct selection of varieties taking into account the soil and climatic characteristics of the regions, and seed cleaning.

The relevant institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture provided prompt advisory services to farmers.

In addition, in accordance with the priorities of COP29, alternative energy installations and environmentally friendly products resistant to climate change were presented. Also at the fairs, about 10 banks and non-bank credit organizations presented their products and provided farmers with information on preferential loans.

As part of the event "Agricultural insurance of agriculture during climate change and its advantages", specialist of the Agricultural Insurance Fund Togrul Gashimov presented to farmers "The method and application of integrated pest management (IPM)"; specialist of the Agency for Agricultural Services Kanan Tapdigli, agronomist of the Sara Group company Damet Soltanov conducted training on the topic "Fundamentals of plant breeding and plant protection measures in the context of global climate change"; Khoshgadam Alesgarova, a specialist at MT Group, conducted a training on the topic of "Rules for the agrotechnical maintenance of grain plants, the correct choice of seeds." The Agrarian Innovation Center plans to organize seed exhibition-sale fair in Goranboy, Terter, Agsu, Zardab, Beylagan, Jalilabad, Masalli, Neftchala, Gakh, Balaken, Shabran districts in order to develop the seed market and local seed production, as well as to ensure the availability of certified, environmentally friendly, high-quality seeds for farmers ahead of autumn planting. It should be noted that the seed exhibition and fair was organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agency for Agricultural Services, the Seed Growers Association of Azerbaijan and a number of private companies.
