The final Agrarian Innovation Festival of the year was held in Astara district under the organization of the Agrarian Innovation Center. Speaking at the event, the head of the Astara District Executive Authority, Gazanfar Agayev, and the chief of staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rafail Guliyev, spoke about the importance of such festivals organized in the regions. Anar Jafarov, director of the Agrarian Innovation Center, presented the “Agroinnofest” project and gave detailed information about the festival.
Innovative agricultural products and technologies were displayed at the festival. The festival, where various techniques, equipment and agricultural plants are displayed, is organized by exhibition, start-up zones, round tables, and training and information sessions. During the festival an information session and trainings were held on a number of priority issues of interest to farmers. The questions of the farmers were answered by the specialists during the “Organization of integrated measures against diseases and pests in citrus orchards”, “Organization of intensive feeding in breeding farms” trainings, as well as the information session on “Insured plants in agriculture”.
Also, at the festival, a round table was held on the discussion of the preliminary results of the project “Support of the European Union to the Lankaran-Astara economic region of Azerbaijan”. Issues related to the production and processing of tea growing, subtropical fruit growing and rice growing were discussed at the round table with the participation of heads of scientific research institutes and companies operating in various fields of the agrarian field.
During the festival, in order to increase the interest of young people living in the regions in the agricultural field, stimulating “workshops” were organized on the topic “Basics of starting a startup for idea owners in the field of agriculture”.
It should be noted that more than 4000 farmers had the opportunity to get acquainted with innovative agricultural products and technologies at the festivals organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center in Guba, Ujar, Gobustan, Aghstafa, Zagatala, Imishli, and Shamkir regions this year.
