Organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, the 15th Agrarian Innovation Festival was held in Khachmaz district. Scientific and Research Institutes of the Ministry of Agriculture, “Agroservis” OJSC, Agrarian Services Agency, Agrarian Credit and Development Agency, Agrarian Insurance Fund, Artificial Fertilization Center, State Seed Fund and other subordinate institutions, as well as more than 60 local and foreign companies and farmers participated. Speaking at the event, Elnur Rzayev, the head of Khachmaz District Executive Power, and Rafail Guliyev, the head of administration of the Ministry of Agriculture, spoke about the importance of such festivals organized in the regions. Director of Agrarian Innovation Center, Anar Jafarov presented the “Agroinnofest” project.
A visual demonstration of various innovative products and equipment were held at the festival organized on the territory of the Khachmaz Olympic Sports Complex. At the festival, large companies specializing in the agrarian field shared their successful experiences, as well as information about the innovative technologies they apply in their farms, regarding the identification of the agricultural potential and perspective of the region and the development of agricultural areas suitable for the region. Also, at the festival, trainings were held on priority agricultural products of the region and priority areas aimed at the development of the agrarian sector.
During the festival, the Agrarian Training Center organized educational activities on the topics of “Planting super-intensive hazelnut orchards”, “Integrated control measures against cherry plant diseases and pests” by the Fruit and Tea Research Institute, and “Pivot irrigation system” by the company that provides services in the field of modern irrigation systems in the country was conducted. At the same time, participants of a number of start-up contests and contests which organized and initiated by the Agrarian Innovation Center, as well as higher education institutions, demonstrated their prototypes, products and solutions, inventions. The festival was welcomed by the farmers of Guba-Khachmaz and surrounding regions.
The main purpose of these festivals, regularly organized in the regions by the Center for Agrarian Innovation, is to develop the agrarian field on an innovative basis, to implement support services for the promotion of technological innovations based on innovative solutions, and to ensure the accessibility of innovations to agricultural product producers.
